A brainstorming list of potential additional Sensing, Input, and Data Acquisition tutorial topics:
- Using the Twitter API (Kevin) [SV: Maybe advanced features that we haven't yet covered? Retrieving archival/old Tweets? Filtering in some new/useful way? Exploring Tweet or Twitter user metadata?]
- HRV + Arduino (Fuji - Thursday)
- Collecting data via devices (e.g., smartphone sensing APIs [geolocation, step count, motion/orientation, audio levels, light levels, etc.]) or prototyping platforms (e.g., Arduino- or Lilypad-connected sensors, Phidgets, etc.)
- Collecting data using Lilypad (Junnan - Tuesday)
- Collecting trace data via a web browser extension (e.g., Chrome Extensions), proxy server, or using operating system hooks (e.g., to monitor mouse activity, window transitions, or files accessed on a local machine)
- Collecting data via other online/web services APIs: Facebook, Instagram, Google [search], etc.
- Collecting data actively from users (e.g., via Qualtrics — but please tackle some of the more interesting bits! — and/or ESM/EMA tools or platforms) (Natalie- Qualtrics)
- Creating a Spider for searching for and scraping data from forums...if I figure it out finally! (Rachel-Tuesday)
- Using the Wayback Machine to find stuff that's been lost to the annals of history (Brianna)
